Mammoth Lakes Noon Rotary is a service club that has provided support to this community since 1982. The club theme is ‘Service Above Self’ and it meets every Thursday to honor and celebrate the work of community members.
The club’s primary goal is to support the community as they attempt to rotate club lunch meetings (held each Thursday at noon for an hour) on an annual basis. As they begin to plan for the 2016-2017 year, they are once again inviting local restaurants to submit a proposal to the club about their ability to host club luncheons over this next year.
Club attendance averages 20 members throughout the year and swells in the summer to almost 40. There is a need for a private room if possible, technology support for presentations such as a wall-mounted television, appropriate parking and a well-balanced, nutritious menu for a reasonable price.
Please send a short outline of your proposal to Rich Boccia by May 20th to allow the committee time to review the proposals, meet with vendors and make a recommendation to the Mammoth Lakes Noon Rotary Club Board at their June 2, 2016 meeting. The first meeting on the property would be July 7, 2016 at noon.

Business listings are an integral part of this new website, but it’s essential that you put some time into managing your listing. Mammoth Lakes Tourism has layered content into the website in many ways, so your listings are even more important than they were on the old website. Check out these six take-aways from Christie Osborne’s website training to learn how to manage your VisitMammoth.com website listing.
- Keep the “travel cycle” in mind. The typical traveler moves from a phase of inspiration to a phase of active evaluation to booking. This new website focuses on inspiration and active evaluation. Remember those two aspects as you’re editing your business listing – inspire the visitor and give them everything they need to take the next steps.
- The goal is to get the visitor from VisitMammoth.com to YOUR website. Make your listing stand out. Beautiful and unique images and a complete list of amenities you offer will encourage the visitor to click through to your page. And when they click through to your page, they’re more likely to book.
- If your guests and customers love your business, show it off by linking to your TripAdvisor or Yelp profile. Great reviews on one or both of these sites show potential guests that you stand by the service you claim to provide. 89 percent of global travelers say reviews are influential when choosing where to book.
- Take advantage of the Book Now button. If you’re a lodging property, include a direct link to your booking page (not your website home page) and a Book Now button will appear on your business listing. This makes the booking process even simpler for potential guests.
- Tweak your listing to make it perfect. If your business isn’t displaying properly on the map shown on the listings page, hover over the red map marker and drag it to the actual location. If your business is closed during the shoulder seasons or only open in the summer, include that information and those dates. If you have different starting rates for summer and winter, include those as well. Take full ownership of your profile and give the website visitor all the information they need.
- If your business fits in multiple categories, write different descriptions for each one. If you’re a restaurant that also caters weddings, you can write two different descriptions so that potential brides see a specific description about your catering services and general hungry visitors find the information they need about dining at your restaurant.
When selecting the amenities your business offers, choose Chamber of Commerce Member if you’re a part of the Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce. Visitors to VisitMammoth.com can search specifically for Chamber of Commerce businesses, and a Chamber of Commerce Member tag will show up on your business listing.

Members of the Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce Host Program serve as the face of the Chamber. Hosts are charged with extending the hand of friendship to new and current members as well as introducing our visitors to the many businesses and activities we have to offer.

Objectives and Responsibilities
Objective 1: To promote the Mammoth Lakes area and the members of the Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce.
Objective 2: To welcome new businesses to the Mammoth Lakes area and to recognize existing businesses already making major strides in our community.
Objective 3: Assist in greeting guests at Chamber of Commerce forums, Business After Hours, ribbon cutting ceremonies and other community events.
Objective 4: Encourage recognition, visibility and involvement of Chamber members and arrange familiarization tours for community and business leaders of the many interesting Chamber businesses.
Objective 5: Assist Chamber staff in recruiting new businesses to join the Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce in addition to mentoring and helping retain existing members.
Objective 6: Greet visitors to our area at scheduled events and provide information that raises awareness of Mammoth Lakes as a four-season destination.
Any Chamber member or employee of a Chamber business is eligible to become a Host. All appointments to the Host Committee and all committee activities require approval of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Mammoth Lakes, Calif. (April 18, 2016) — The Board of Directors for Mammoth Lakes Tourism (MLT) has three seats whose terms expire as of June 30, 2016 and are available for candidacy; Restaurant, Retail, and At Large. The seats are a two-year term. To qualify applicants must hold a current Town of Mammoth Lakes Business License, be in good standing with current business licenses, taxes and assessments, reside within Mammoth Lakes and have a substantial business interest in the Town. The Restaurant and Retail seat applicants must also be a business owner or manager from those business types. An ad hoc, nominating committee of board members will interview candidates and then make their recommendation to the full board for approval and appointment.
The current MLT Board consists of a diverse group of Mammoth Lakes business people: Chairman of the Board John Morris of Snowcreek Resort and Kirk Schaubmayer of Alpenhof Lodge represent lodging, Michael Ledesma of Gomez’s and Base Camp Café represents restaurants, Michael Raimondo of Old New York Deli represents the Mammoth Lakes Town Council, Sean Turner of Mammoth Brewing Company represents retail, Brent Truax of Sierra Nevada Resort represents the Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce, Erik Forsell, MMSA Chief Marketing Officer, represents Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, Matthew Lehman of Matthew Lehman Real Estate is At Large, as is local businessman Paul Rudder.
The MLT Board oversees and gives direction to the Executive Director. MLT receives the majority of its funding from Measure A and the TBID. Event- and wedding-focused area businesses can’t miss the Mammoth Lakes Event and Wedding Expo on Saturday, April 16 from 2-5 p.m. at the Westin Monache Resort in Mammoth Lakes.
Members of the Chamber can sign up for an exhibitor booth for free. Non-Chamber members are invited to sign up for a booth for $75 or join the Chamber for $200 to qualify for a free booth and more membership benefits. The Expo is presented by the Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce, the Westin Monache Resort and Green Fox Events and Guest Services with support from the Mono County Tourism & Film Commission. Go to the Expo website to sign up for information about being an exhibitor.
The expo will provide a centralized event where potential clients and local business owners can network and perform both Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) activities. The emphasis will be on showcasing all meeting- and event-related services available in Mammoth Lakes and surrounding areas.
“This is a remarkable opportunity for our beautiful and diverse destination to familiarize potential visitors, meeting and event planners, wedding couples and the media with all that Mammoth Lakes has to offer in terms of attractions, activities, venues, and services,” said Jeff Guillory, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Westin Monache Resort. “It is also an opportunity for our community to come together to learn about all that is new in our town to better sell and promote our destination to visitors and clients.”
The Expo will be followed by a Happy Hour Mixer at the Westin Monache Resort from 5-6:30 p.m.
The event is free for guests to attend. Partners and participants are encouraged to invite their potential clients and contacts to the Expo.
