4th of July Parade

July 4, 2024

The Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce thanks the 40 floats that participated in this year’s 4th of July Parade. This year the parade's Grand Marshal was the Tanner Family. Sadly, Bobby Tanner, the second-generation owner of Red’s Meadow Resort and Pack Station, as well as Rock Creek Lodge, passed away just days before the Parade. The Chamber and his family paid tribute to him at the beginning of the Parade with his widow Claudia riding her horse and their son Bo leading a Riderless Horse.

The Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce extends thanks to the Mammoth Film Festival for sponsoring this year’s Parade, "Movies in the Mountains". Their float featured old-style wagons led by a LED truck playing their festival highlights and clips from the movie “Horizon: An American Saga”. They gave away over 1500 "Scene It" board games and teamed up with Minaret Cinemas for free screenings.

We want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to our sponsors. Without our amazing partners, the parade just wouldn’t be the same. Our other sponsors include Outbound Mammoth, Advanced Airlines, Cerro Coso Community College, Mammoth Hospital and Visit Mammoth.

Also, a big shout-out and thanks to all our VOLUNTEERS - who helped to make the Parade run smoothly - we need more of you!!

Float Competition Results

The float competition, sponsored by Mammoth Holistics, was judged by a panel of five judges, including three independent representatives from Chamber member businesses, one community member, and a second home-owner. Positioned throughout the parade route, the judges scored each float based on Audience Reaction & Float Engagement, Creativity & Execution, and Parade Guideline Adherence.
