Board Member - Kate Wallace
Kate Wallace, a California native, grew up in the beautiful wine country of Paso Robles. After graduating high school, she moved to San Diego and earned a Communication Degree from San Diego State University. Following a summer abroad in Europe, Kate enrolled in the elementary teaching credential program at San Diego State University. She went on to teach first and third grade at a local charter school in San Diego. During her last year of teaching, Kate met her now husband, Kirk Wallace.
Never one to shy away from adventure, Kate readily agreed when Kirk proposed moving to Mammoth Lakes to open a brewery with his brother, Drew. She moved to Mammoth Lakes in February 2019, married Kirk in October, and together they opened Distant Brewing in December 2019. Since then, Kate and Kirk have welcomed their daughter, Noelle, who has become a true mountain girl at heart.
You will often find Kate behind the bar at Distant Brewing, and at other times you might see her around town, buried in her laptop as she is also pursuing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, aiming to become a licensed marriage and family therapist.
